Evaluation Task 3
Raju- ashwin and me found a opening logo on a website called videocopilot. This website consisted of many transitions and ideas. This helped us create our own one. We where going for the 3D affect as this would make our logo stand out. We both decided to call it shallow grave productions because it fits in with our logo.
Ashwin- to raise money for our film we would release the movie onto DVD. Also we would sell the film online, so users can download it rather than buying it. This would increase the money we gain from the film.
Raju- a production company creates ideas and motion pictures, TV. They may also find funding for the products they produce. We decided that our distribution company could be film 4 as it is British based and low budget.
Ashwin- A distributor is someone reliable who would get the film out there and support it fully. Film 4 would be the most reliable as they've been going for years and have already got films being produced for 2013.
Raju- the main reason why a key person was named in our titles is that they have done their own bit to pull this film together. Without the people we couldn’t have produced our film sequence.
Ashwin- I agree with raju and what he said about he contribution each person made in order to produce our opening sequence. Each person put a great deal of work into the sequence. Without the three people we wouldn’t have made a successful opening sequence.
Raju- what are the names of films that we used for inspiration? Our main film was seven and number 23. These films had a similar narrative to ours so it was good to use them, in order to make ours successful.

Evaluation of Group 1 Thriller Opening
Group 1’s thriller opening entices the viewer right from the beginning; the establishing shot sets the scene allowing the viewer to understand what may be included within the sequence and should attract the viewer’s attention. The shot of Manan entering the scene could signify distress and agony, straight away there is a cross cut of the person captured and held hostage. The storyline is clearly shown and the viewer can easily understand that the person is in distress and something may happen that we are not aware of yet.
The titles to begin with run through the opening sequence, whilst the man is held hostage and then cross cutting back to the man being followed, the titles are inserted within the opening sequence and this works well because as we get a sense of the mise-en-scene we also have the titles embedded within the opening, this helps not to lose the flow of the sequence and keeps it consistent.
The soundtrack correlates with the opening sequence as it includes an eyrie, sordid feel. The soundtrack hints the essence of a thriller sound and was made by the group which also makes it unique and best suited for the opening sequence.
On the other hand there are aspects where certain items may be developed, some camera shots were hard to keep up with such as the shot where it is a POV shot, but it is much too blurry and to fast making the viewer feel uncomfortable. Another feature that they could improve would be the length of the titles, as I feel they are to short and as soon I begin to read the names the title changes.
Overall the opening sequence is well constructed and portrays a clear, straight forward storyline but there are certain aspects which could be improved such as some camera shots and the speed of which the titles are shown at the beginning of the opening sequence.

Soundtrack Creation
The screenshot above is of the creation of the soundtrack and the software we used was garage band as we could access many sample tunes and create a relevant tune for the thriller project.

Thoughts and Processes on group work
The first filming session was testing different camera angles and panning shots in Centenary Park. This was before the Christmas Holidays on a cold winter morning and Raju, Omar and I were testing relevant shots needed for the opening scene. As we began to film for our final sequence problems began to occur, lighting was effecting our shots as the room was much to bright, but as Omar worked his wonders on after effects he could darken the room without damaging the picture quality and ruining the footage. Another problem was the props which was the blood, this needed to be created and wasted valuable time into perfecting the solution. As all problems were then resolved, filming was successful and were no problems with the final footage.
My involvement was Editing (along side Omar and Raju) and Directing the opening sequence.
Soundtrack Analysis
Seven soundtrack was a key inspiration as was the whole film opening. The sound effects used within the opening clip give the clip a twisted and edgy feel as the sound felt unsettling and gave the influence of disturbance and isolation. The clip below is of the opening film and soundtrack of the movie Seven, the sound used within this opening clip helped us visualise the type of sound needed for an effective thriller opening.

http://petesmediablog.blogspot.com/
These are some of the blogs which i have viewed and all are varied, from the amount of visual information to long essay styled answers given for certain questions. All are very well constructed blogs and show a clear thought process for what the students were thinking of. Furthermore all blogs are well constructed and allow the reader to understand everything the student had experienced whilst completing their course.
Marketing Analysis
Many well known movies have marketed their film efficiently, and have recognised potential advertising strategies; which encourage many to view the film as it has been shown to them regularly, amongst their daily life.
Our movie is a low budget film which would mainly be advertised on the Internet, this would be popular sites which many viewers may visit on a daily basis. Social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter would be ideal to advertise our movie as many people in our suitable target audience use these sites encouraging the certain type of audience to find this film most appealing to them.
This is an example of the advertisement type which would interest us as this is on a Facebook page and clearly shows the adverts which are displayed on the right hand side.
Many use the Internet on a daily basis therefore Facebook being a perfect advertisement page for our movie which would furthermore attract many peoples attention.
